Local Massachusetts Author Releases Heartwarming New Children’s Book: Meg the Red Labrador

Boston, MA — November 21, 2025 — Massachusetts author and grandfather Armand Brunelle has released a charming new children’s book, Meet Meg the Red Labrador, inspired by his family’s beloved real-life Labrador Retriever, Meg. Designed for early readers and families, the book celebrates curiosity, kindness, friendship, and the joy pets bring to everyday life.

Written after the arrival of Brunelle’s first grandchild, Meet Meg the Red Labrador is the first in a planned five-book series, including forthcoming Spanish editions.

A Local Story with Local Roots.

Brunelle, a lifelong Massachusetts resident, community volunteer, and nonprofit board member, says the inspiration came directly from his recent adoption of Meg in 2024 and her first year of life.

“Meg reminds kids to be curious, be kind, and always wag your tail,” Brunelle says. “And she really is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet.”

Meet the Real Meg

Families have been delighted to learn that Meg is not just a character — she’s a real dog, and children can meet her at local events.

An upcoming “Meet the Real Meg the Red Labrador” event is scheduled for:

Saturday, December 6, 2025 — 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Attendees can meet Meg, enjoy snacks, listen to story readings, and purchase signed books.

A Perfect Gift for Children and Grandchildren

With colorful illustrations, simple language, and a heartwarming message, Meet Meg the Red Labrador has quickly become a favorite holiday gift for families.
